From 7 till 16 September the EC Baseball took place in Rotterdam.
From 7 till 16 September was Rotterdam host city of the 2012 European Baseball Championship. The matches were played in Rotterdam, Haarlem and Utrecht. The Dutch team has played all their matches in the Neptunus Stadium in Rotterdam. Italy played her preliminary round matches in Haarlem and for example Belgium and Germany played in Utrecht.
The European Championship was part of the celebrations to mark the centenary in 2012 of the Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association.

Result
Italy wins the European Championship after a 8-3 victory over The Netherlands in the final. With a 6-8 victory over Germany, Spain earned the bronze medal for the twelfth time.
