V.O.C. Cricket Complex
The complex at the Hazelaarweg is first and foremost set up to
serve the sporting needs of members. As V.O.C. is both a football
and cricket club, our complex is open all year round. Roughly, you
could say that the club is used for playing cricket from May to
August and for football from September to April. Having said that,
overlapping activities will always occur given the fact that the
national football association and cricket association do not
coordinate their programmes.
The V.O.C. sports hall has been in use since 1 September 2003. With
389 m2 of surface area (32.40 metres long x 12 metres wide), it is
suitable for many purposes. In the first place, the hall is fit for
use for indoor cricket practice sessions. Many cricket clubs,
including the Dutch national team and selected youth team, have
found their way to the hall. In addition, as icing on the cake, the
V.O.C. was pleased to act as host for the Australian and Indian
teams in the summer of 2004. It can proudly say that all users of
the hall, including national and international top athletes, have
been more than happy with the facilities and level of service. When
set up for playing cricket, the hall has three nets and an
excellent batting pitch. With a total length of 32.40 metres, there
is ample room for the bowler's approach. There is also a BOLA
bowling machine available for use.
Sparta Stadion - Het Kasteel
Sparta owes its extraordinary position in the Netherlands to its characteristic home, Het Kasteel. Built in 1916, the building has often been renovated over the years. The last, most radical renovation took place in 1999, realising 2,000 m2 of office space and 2,500 m2 of commercial property within the complex. The stadium gives an economic and social impulse to the Spangen quarter and plays an important role in activities organised by the submunicipality of Delfshaven, as it does not only host a football match once every fortnight, but is a hive of activity every day.
Excelsior Stadium - Woudestein
Woudestein is the home base of Jupiler League football club Excelsior. Following extensive renovations in 2000, the new stadium opened its doors in its current form in 2000. The stadium has a capacity of 3,531 spectators and offers excellent facilities for practice and competition.
Hockey Stadium Rotterdam
Hockey Club Rotterdam (HCR) was founded on 16 September 1925. In addition to being the largest field hockey club in the Netherlands with its own stadium for over 10,000 spectators, it is also the most successful club in Rotterdam. Situated at the Hazelaarweg in Rotterdam-Schiebroek since its relocation in 2001, HCR boasts three water-based as well as four sand-filled full-size hockey fields. The club has been the stage for a number of world level events, such as the FIH Champions Trophy events (2001 and 2008) and the Men's Junior (under 22) World Cup in 2005. It also hosted the Euro Hockey League finals.
Ahoy Rotterdam
With thousands of visitors per event, over a million visitors
each year and a line-up of national and international stars, Ahoy
is a well-known venue for concerts and events. But that's not all
Ahoy has to offer. Take, for instance, the trade fair and events
centre with a surface area of a whopping 30,000 m2. Or the
versatile congress and meeting centre: an ideal location for
meetings, conferences, congresses and presentations. And what about
the Ahoy Plaza where you, your friends, acquaintances or business
associates can enjoy a bite to eat or a drink in one of the many
restaurants and cafés? Our multifunctional trade fair and event
halls make Ahoy truly unique.
But there is more to Ahoy than just space and facilities. The
expertise of our professionals is equally important. After all,
organising is our core business. Ahoy has the capacity to
accommodate virtually any size event. Are you looking for a venue
for a conference-slash-dinner party? Or a concert combined with a
meeting? A sports event and a presentation? Leave it to us. In
fact, the more complex the job, the bigger the challenge.
The possibilities are as varied as the events you can organise in
Ahoy, whether it is business, pleasure or a combination of the two.
From state-of-the-art trade fairs to electrifying pop concerts.
From educational conferences to dazzling sports events. In
everything we do, we keep in mind that visitors and organisers are
looking to provide meaningful experiences. My Ahoy. Experience
it.
Victoria Tenniscomplex
Victoria offers excellent facilities for playing hockey, tennis
and squash.
There are tennis and squash courts available for rent to
non-members. Part of the complex is rented out by the sports club.
A sports hall for playing football, badminton (four courts),
volleyball (three courts), indoor cricket and for training is also
available for rent, as well as the outdoor fields (two grass
football fields, one water-based artificial grass hockey field and
one artificial grass field).
The accommodation has two VIP rooms available for rent to groups of
10 to 20 persons. If desired, catering services can be provided.
The VIP rooms are ideal for combining business with sports
activities and dinner.
Feijenoord Stadium - De Kuip
De Kuip is a multifunctional complex with 50,000 seats, most of which are covered. De Kuip is the home stadium of football club Feyenoord, but hosts more than just football. The adjacent Maasgebouw allows for a combination of sports, culture and entertainment. Inside is a restaurant, De Kuip Eten en Drinken, which serves lunch, dinner and cocktails. The professional staff of De Kuip's Congress and Event Centre are happy to advise you on the possibilities to host events, pop concerts, theme parties, business meetings, staff parties and conferences at De Kuip. It is not without reason that the Feijenoord Stadium is the most popular stadium in the Netherlands: its excellent accessibility by car (5 minutes from the A16) and public transport (tram 23) and free parking make it an ideal choice for any occasion.
Neptunus Family Stadium
The Neptunus Family Stadium was brought into use in April 1999.
Europe's most modern baseball stadium has fixed seating for over
2,500 spectators and 26 covered relations units on the top tier for
sponsors, adding up to a total seating capacity of 2,760.
In addition to 12 locker rooms for sports club Neptunus, the
stadium boasts various massage rooms and referee quarters and has a
clubhouse located on the ground floor. On the first floor, there is
a business lounge where the Gouden Drietand Business Club of DOOR
Neptunus is stationed. The complex also includes a fully equipped
fitness centre and has overhead lighting for evening matches. All
this makes the Neptunus Family Stadium a prime location for
baseball matches and competitions, such as the world-famous ENECO
World Port Baseball Tournament which is organised here every two
years.
As main location for the Baseball World Cup in September 2005, the
entire complex received an upgrading. First of all, the outfield
fences were moved back to comply with international dimensions (98
metres x 120 meters x 98 metres). To protect the players, the field
was lined with blue padding. A batters-eye was placed in the
mid-outfield and original yellow foul poles were put up at both
ends.
Both in and around the outfield, various light fixtures were fitted
in the light poles to meet light power requirements.
In June 2006, a long-cherished wish came true when an original,
second baseball field was developed where the softball field had
been. The former football training field was turned into a softball
field.
In September 2005, the main football field was covered with
artificial grass made in accordance with the latest norms.
